01 The story, in three paragraphs

Why everyone keeps coming back.

Situated in the heart of San Antonio, Dairy Queen at 600 Fair Ave is more than just your typical fast food stop—it’s a beloved local spot where comfort meets crave-worthy flavor. Specializing in fast food and ice cream, this location captures the essence of classic American indulgence with a welcoming atmosphere that makes every visit feel like a small celebration.

The menu is a delightful mix of savory and sweet sensations. For those craving a satisfying meal, the Texas Toast BLT stands out with its perfectly toasted bread layered with crispy bacon, fresh lettuce, and ripe tomatoes, creating a harmonious bite full of texture and flavor. The Crispy Chicken Sandwich is another standout, boasting a golden breaded fillet nestled in a soft bun, topped with crisp lettuce and juicy tomato, complemented by a tangy salad dressing that elevates the entire sandwich experience. For burger lovers, the Patty Melt on Texas Toast combines grilled onions, savory beef patty, and creamy American cheese, all embraced by buttery toast—a classic that never disappoints.

When it comes to sharing or feeding a group, Dairy Queen’s catering platters make entertaining a breeze. Their 25 Piece Chicken Strip Party Platter offers tender, 100% all-white meat chicken strips, available in both Original and Spicy options, paired with an assortment of delicious dipping sauces that cater to every preference. Add a basket of hot, crisp fries to the mix for a perfect side that delivers that signature satisfying crunch.

The sweet tooth will find pure joy in the classic DILLY® Bar — a cold, creamy vanilla soft serve dipped in a crunchy, flavorful cone shell available in tempting flavors like Chocolate, Cherry, Butterscotch, and Heath®. These treats bring a nostalgic touch with each bite, making every visit memorable, especially on warm Texas days.

I don’t usually leave reviews, but this experience truly deserves recognition. The Assistant Manager who helped me — I believe her name is Jacky — showed an extraordinary level of professionalism and compassion. When others didn’t want to assist me, she stepped forward without hesitation. She replaced my food and ice cream and handled the situation with calm, confidence, and genuine care. I live with a disability that can sometimes cause intense frustration, and at times people may make assumptions about me because of it. Even during a moment when emotions were high, she never judged me, talked down to me, or treated me as less than. She remained respectful, patient, and attentive the entire time — and that says everything about her character. What meant the most to me is that by the end of our interaction, we were both laughing. She turned a difficult situation into a human moment. My disability may affect how others see me, but it does not define my intelligence or my worth — and she treated me accordingly. She may look young, but she carries herself with the maturity, emotional intelligence, and leadership of someone far beyond her years. What she showed that day wasn’t just customer service — it was empathy, strength, and true professionalism. This young lady deserves recognition and a standing ovation for the way she represents this business and supports all customers. Employees like her set the standard, and she made a lasting and meaningful impression on me

Popped in for a large Chocolate Sundae. Very busy in the drive-thru, and almost every table is filled inside. Little bit of a wait for my large chocolate sundae. staff was nice, though seems short on workers to make serving customers smooth. Will be back, DQ is DQ most places. This one is always busy here in San Antonio.

Took my son to eat, he didn’t have the best day at school. When we arrived the employees were welcoming and kind. The food came out at a good time without a long wait, and anything I needed I was helped right away by the two ladies working in front. I love coming to this location
